Rollins Pass West
Denver, ColoradoRoute Overview:
There are mountain roads with history—and then there’s Rollins Pass, once part of the route that carried trains across the Continental Divide. Telegraph lines connected stations, massive wooden trestles carried locomotives across impossible terrain, and the town of Corona operated near the summit. Today, the Needle’s Eye Tunnel collapse and closure separates Rollins Pass East and West. The west-side route is a narrow and rocky adventure that visits the trestles and alpine lakes. Boulder Wagon Road is an optional, more demanding continuation for suitable vehicles, and whether you take that on or skip, the trail will be filled with Hidden Wonders, stories and challenges to enjoy.
