How the challenge works

Hidden Wonders is an off-road adventure that combines trail driving, exploration, clues, and puzzles. Choose a trail that matches your vehicle and skill level, follow the guidebook, solve the challenges, and earn a sticker for each trail completed.

Each trail description includes an estimated completion time. Use it as a guide and allow extra time for stops, photos, puzzles, weather, traffic, and trail conditions.

You sure can! Adventure doesn't have to stop after one trail. Complete one trail or make it a bigger adventure by exploring multiple trails and locations. The more you explore, the more Hidden Wonders you'll discover.

Your adventure starts with an account! Create your Hidden Wonders profile, purchase your trail, begin uncovering clues, puzzles, and hidden discoveries for all locations.

There is no time limit to complete a challenge. However, sticker rewards are available only while supplies last. After completing the trail and challenges, return to your profile page and answer the questions to claim your reward.

You sure can. When you purchase your trail and have downloaded the guidebook, you can print that on your own printer and take it on the trail with you.

The digital guidebook includes a downloadable guidebook file, a link to the onX map, and a GPX file with trail coordinates. If you purchase the printed guidebook option, you'll receive a hard copy printed on durable, three-hole-punched cardstock, ready for use on the trail.

Please allow 5 business days to receive shipment of the printed guidebook. Once your guidebook is shipped, you will receive tracking information for your guidebook.

Yes, you can access and download your purchased trails on multiple devices. Simply log in to your account, visit your profile page, and download your trail files to your phone, tablet, or other supported devices whenever needed.

Each trail includes recommended vehicle types, difficulty ratings, terrain details, and any known obstacles. Be sure to review this information before purchasing or registering to ensure the trail is a good fit for your vehicle and experience level.

Spare tires and recovery gear are not required to participate. However, we recommend carrying them for unexpected situations on the trail. Any recommended equipment will be noted in your guidebook.

Wear comfortable clothes that can get dusty or dirty and sturdy, closed-toe shoes for walking on uneven terrain. Depending on the weather, consider bringing layers, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and rain or cold-weather gear. Be prepared to get out and explore along the route, and always check the weather forecast before heading out.

Yes. We strongly recommend downloading the guidebook before you arrive and either printing it or making sure it is saved somewhere you can access without cell service. The guide includes coordinates, clues, puzzle cards, trail details, and space to reference notes or photos as you complete the challenge.

Trail difficulty is rated on a scale of 1 to 10 based on the terrain, obstacles, and driving conditions you may encounter.

• 1 to 3 (Easy): Maintained roads and mild terrain with few obstacles. Suitable for most vehicles.
• 4 to 6 (Intermediate): Rougher surfaces, steeper grades, ruts, loose rocks, sand, mud, or other moderate obstacles. May require additional vehicle capability and driver experience.
• 7 to 10 (Hard): Technical terrain with significant obstacles such as ledges, deep ruts, water crossings, off-camber sections, erosion, or challenging conditions. Recommended for experienced drivers and properly equipped vehicles.

Difficulty ratings are based on typical trail conditions and may consider factors such as road surface, grades, rocks, sand, mud, water crossings, obstacle height, and overall technical challenges. Trail conditions can change due to weather, erosion, closures, or new obstacles, so always review the trail description, understand your vehicle's capabilities, and use good judgment before heading out.

Any and all needed permits and passes will be listed in the trail guidebook

After completing the trail and challenges, return to the Ford Hidden Wonders Challenge website and visit your profile page. There, you can complete the survey, rate the trail, and redeem your reward.

No. The reward is not based on your score. Once you complete the trail, survey, and trail rating, you'll be eligible to receive your reward regardless of how many questions you answered correctly. After submitting the survey, we'll provide the correct answers to all challenge questions.

Each trail features a unique collectible sticker designed specifically for that trail. The more trails you complete, the more exclusive stickers you can earn and proudly display.
